GENUINE CURIOSITY

I called up my friend to see if she was interested in meeting for lunch. I haven't seen her in a long while so it will be nice to catch up. I'm sure she's probably somewhat suspicious about my request since I haven't talked to her in some time. I'll admit that part of the reason I want to meet is because I'm hoping I can ask her some questions about how to file for bankruptcy. I know she's the only person in my circle of friends that I would be able to talk to about this since she deals with these issues extensively in her profession. The other part is, in fact, genuine curiosity about what's going on in her life. I heard through a mutual acquaintance that she's had a rough run of things lately. I know she was engaged to be married but I haven't heard anything about it anymore. I suspect they're not even together. It's one of those awkward things that I want to mention, but I will need to wait and see if she brings it up. Speaking of awkward things, I have my own failed relationship that people are wondering about. Financial reasons are partially to blame for our split. Something tells me we'll have plenty to talk about!
